E-Newsletter: Summer 2021

Dear Friends,

Welcome to the first edition of our quarterly e-newsletter to keep you informed about Barclay Friends. We hope you find some useful information referenced below including helpful tips offered through our website blogs as well as updates about our gardening programs.

During these summer months, the recreation team has been delivering fun activities for residents, including weekly excursions to local places such as Highland Orchards. A recently launched program called “Drums Alive” gives residents the chance to drum along to their favorite tunes, and residents love it.

Barclay Friends recently had our annual unannounced inspections by the Pennsylvania Department of Health and the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services. Both surveys went well and reported favorable returns.

Our services are in demand. New residents are joining us in Preston! We are thrilled to welcome new residents and their families to our beautiful new building.

We continue to be very thankful for the COVID-19 vaccine. It has made it possible to allow increased visitation between residents and their family and friends. We remain ever vigilant against virus variants as cases in Chester County are beginning to rise. Speaking of the vaccine, the vaccination rate among our team members is currently 87%fully vaccinated, and we are requiring all team members to be fully vaccinated by October 1.

We are very thankful to everyone who helped us through the past year. Your support has meant the world to us.

Sincerely,

Linda Sterthous
