Current Community involvement includes serving on the board of the Chester County Art Association and Friends Association, East Bradford Township Park and Recreation Commission. Former served on the West Chester Old Timers Ice Hockey Club. Former roles include supervisor of East Bradford Township, board member of The Hickman, general committee member in charge of Westtown School, treasurer of the Quarry Club, board member of Countrywide Abstract, and director & president of the Abstracting Company of Chester County. Retired executive experienced in the design and marketing of industrial water treatment systems. Currently a trustee at the West Chester Friends School. Past board memberships include the Brandywine Valley Association and the Bachelors Barge Foundation and the Marshallton Conservation Trust. Hobbies include field sports, gardening, and amateur rowing. Memberships include the Ardrossan Beagles and the Men’s Garden Club of Philadelphia. Serita briefly taught Spanish in the US and abroad, at both a college and secondary level. She also has project management experience in marketing communications as an interpreter and translator, editor, writer, instructor, event planner, various H.R. functions for international corporations. She served on a number of local and national boards, the most recent being Friends for Care and Protection of Children on the Executive, Marketing and Development, and Governance Committees. She is one of the founding members of Habitat for Humanity in Chester Country and served on Concordville Rotary. Completed Delaware Country Leadership Conference Program 2002. Currently serving as Clerk (chair) of the Meeting, chaired Oversight & Pastoral Care, Worship & Ministry, Peace & Social Concerns, Nominating and Religious Education Committees. Former founder and President for two startup companies in San Diego, CA; an internet venture and “Motivating the Teen Spirit. Past Executive Director of San Diego Chamber Orchestra. Past Board Member of Manhattanville College and Water for South Sudan. Active member of the West Chester Rotary Club, chairing the children’s coat committee.
