Community Overview

Grow with Us!

Consistent with our Quaker values, and in a setting of vibrant gardens, Barclay Friends offers quality care for older adults in the West Chester community.

We envision Barclay Friends as a premier advocate, initiator, and facilitator of services for older adults. Through an integrated continuum of care and services, and in partnership with our community, we will ensure services that enhance the quality of life.

Services

Barclay Friends is a Kendal affiliate offering homelike accommodations and warm, compassionate care. Our services for older adults include Residential Living, Memory Care, Personal Care and Skilled Nursing Care. We employ a dedicated staff with many years of service who understand that focusing on residents’ individual needs enhances their quality of life. Residents work with our horticultural therapist to design floral arrangements and cultivate produce for the local food bank. Our recreational team helps residents learn of their “not before realized” creativity by utilizing arts and music.

Values

Representing a long-time Quaker tradition, Barclay Friends upholds the dignity and independence of each resident. We understand loved ones deserve attentive and devoted care. Barclay Friends is proud to be accredited by The Joint Commission as a Nursing Care Center and has achieved a certificate in Post-Acute Care.

When I first chose Barclay Friends to be mom’s home, I did so because I sensed an alignment of your values and our values.  Through the years, I have witnessed those values in action in the care that you give to mom…and me.

In this time of separation from mom, Barclay Friends continues to live those values in everything you do, giving giving my mom all the care, attention, and love that she needs.  I take great comfort in that.
