Renewal is Barclay Friends’ focus, as it has been since the tragic November 16 fire.
Since then, a portion of the generous funds raised to help our residents has been allocated to a grant program to replace personal belongings lost in the fire. Grant applications have been shared with residents and their families. Funds also have been set aside to help meet the needs of staff during this difficult time, as well as to reopen Cotter, the skilled nursing building, so that many residents may return home.
Our goal is to welcome residents back to the skilled nursing community in the spring. In addition, we plan to begin construction on a new personal care and memory support building later this year. Community is an essential value in the Quaker tradition that makes Barclay Friends a great place to live, work and share
