Yesterday, we had the honor of meeting with James, the grandson of two of our residents. He recently completed a project with his first grade class at New Eagle Elementary entitled “The Big Give.” His teacher applied for a grant that provides each child with $10 that he or she is to “grow,” with the purpose of donating all proceeds they earn to a cause of their choice. James used his money to make chocolate chip cookies and have a lemonade stand over Easter weekend—his favorite part, according to him. In total, he raised almost $200! Here, he officially presents his earnings to Linda Sterthous, our Executive Director with some help from his sister Nora and his grandfather Peter.
