Calling all nurses and social workers! The numbers of LGBT older adults are expected to double in size over the next several decades, reaching more than 3 million by 2030. This means that aging services providers will increasingly be called on to provide services and supports that meet the unique needs of LGBT older adults.

Participants of this event will learn about the culture, needs, and concerns of LGBT older adults; will consider why LGBT older adults are less likely to access health and social services; and will learn practices for helping LGBT older adults to feel more included in aging network services.  Attendance is limited to 30.

NASW-PA Chapter is a co-sponsor of this workshop.  4 CEs will be awarded for completion of this course.  NASW has been designed as a pre-approved provider of professional continuing education for social workers (Section 47.36), Marriage and Family Therapist (Section 48.36) and Professional Counselors (Section 49.36) by the PA State Board of Social Workers, Marriage & Family Therapists and  Professional Counselors.
