"The cats aren't real, but comforts to seniors are"

The March 12, 2017 issue of the Philadelphia Inquirer featured an article about the benefits of robotic cats in long term care composed by Stacey Burling, Inquirer Staff Writer.

“It’s been a godsend for many of our residents,” says Elsabet Haile, Recreation Director at Barclay Friends.  A cat named Goldie has helped keep a resident who was prone to falls calmer and in her chair.  She frets about whether the cat has had enough to eat.  Another resident thinks the meowing cat is speaking Yiddish to her.  A cat filled a void for a woman who had recently lost her husband.
